Finding the right apartment involves more than choosing a floor plan. From selecting the right Milwaukee-area location and amenities to understanding rent, applications, and what daily life is like, there are several factors to consider. Here’s how Wimmer Communities can help you through every step of your apartment search. A renter’s apartment journey is many things, but it’s not a joke—especially when you’re searching for the right apartment in the Milwaukee area. WHICH MILWAUKEE APARTMENT IS RIGHT FOR ME?
No one can answer that question for you — but if you’re like most people, you’ll know it when you see it! That’s why Wimmer Communities has taken the time to develop a website that helps you both visually and verbally. We provide photos and videos, as well as detailed descriptions of our apartment communities and the neighborhoods they are located in. You can take a virtual tour of a community and/or a particular apartment right from your phone or laptop, no matter where in the world you are at the moment.
Start by visiting our gorgeous website! In the header, click “Apartments” and choose the city you are most focused on from the drop-down list. That city will populate the box labeled “City, Zip Code, Address or Property Name.” Now look to the right. Choose the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and minimum/maximum rent amount from the remaining drop-down boxes – only if you want to. This is not required to receive results.
Next, click on “More Filters” on the far right. This option allows you to slim down your results, so you’re not considering apartments that don’t suit your needs. For example, if an outdoor pool is a deal-breaker for you, click the box next to “Swimming Pool” and you’ll only receive property results with a pool.
If you are considering more than one city, find the “Location” section and click any and all cities you want to consider.
While you’re there, click on any other “must haves,” such as garage or fitness center. Once you’re finished, click “done.” The apartment communities listed fulfill your chosen parameters. If you received too many results, see if you can fine tune or add to your filter choices. If you received too few results, you may want to change or remove a filter choice or two to see how that affects your outcomes.
Once you click on an apartment community, the menu bar will take you to Amenities, Floor Plans, an Interactive Property Map showing apartments that are available for lease, Photos, Neighborhood descriptions, and more.
WHERE SHOULD I LIVE IN THE MILWAUKEE AREA?
Most apartment hunters are focused on a location that is convenient to some aspect of everyday life, such as place of employment, school district, retail location, or proximity to the freeway or public transportation. Wimmer Communities has taken some of the guesswork out of this question. From the home page, if you click the “Apartments” header, then choose “All Neighborhoods,” or the particular neighborhood you’re most interested in, a map will come up near the right-hand margin. By scrolling in or out (or maximizing the map by clicking the icon in the top right corner of the map), you will see the locations of all Wimmer Communities (or all the communities within your chosen city). From here, it will be easy to see how close our properties are to the locations that are most important to you, such as your office, the place you volunteer, or your daughter’s house.
In addition, each apartment community menu includes a “Neighborhood” option. Click on “Neighborhood” to see the apartment community within the context of the neighborhood it is situated in. By clicking the “+” icon, restaurants, stores, parks, and road names populate, helping you determine if this particular Wimmer community is the right fit for you.
Of course, nothing answers the question of, “Where should I live,” better than actually visiting the communities you are considering, taking a tour with a leasing professional, and driving around the neighborhood. Bon Voyage!
HOW DIFFICULT IS RENTING AND HOW MUCH DOES AN APARTMENT COST?
The actual process of renting begins with an application. The menu within each apartment community webpage includes a link outlining “Application Guidelines.” This is the place to see the criteria upon which Wimmer Communities bases its application decisions.
On our website, each apartment lists a rent range, based on many factors, including the length of the lease you desire. Our FAQ page says it best:
“ Apartment pricing is like buying a car. Your monthly car payment will be a combination of factors such as the car model, the car's amenities (does it have heated seats and a tech system?), and the length of your car loan. In the same way, apartment pricing is based on a variety of factors including availability of the apartment type, special benefits such as a great view of a golf course, and the length of the lease.
