Wimmer Communities' Response to COVID-19

At Wimmer Communities we are committed to the health and well-being of our employees, residents and communities but especially now, during these uncertain times. We want our residents to be safe and continue to feel comfortable in the place they call home. To achieve this, we have and will institute precautionary measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

We would like to thank all our Residents for sticking with us through these challenging times. Your continued support of our efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 has allowed us to begin executing plans to reopen.

We anticipate that the situation surrounding COVID-19 will remain fluid, and as such, plans for reopening will need to be gradual.  With this in mind, we have developed a phased in approach for reopening that aligns with guidance from national and state health experts, as well as industry best practices.

 

Management and Leasing Offices:  Effective 5/26/20

  • Leasing offices will open for in person meetings with Residents by appointment.
  • Wimmer staff will ask prescreening health questions before confirming an appointment.
  • The number of Residents/Guests allowed in the office at one time will be limited to the number of staff members available to assist.
  • At this time, Residents will not be allowed to enter the leasing office without a preschedule appointment. If you have a prescheduled appointment and a member of the staff is not available when you arrive, you may be asked to wait outside or in your apartment until someone becomes available.
  • Residents may be asked to wear a mask when entering the leasing office. (Masks will be available in the leasing office for those who need them.)
  • All Residents will be asked to sign in prior to entering the office.
  • Our staff will be required to wear a mask when interacting with Residents.

Maintenance Services:  Effective 5/26/20

  • Maintenance will begin performing essential non-emergency service work in occupied apartments by appointment.
  • Wimmer staff will ask prescreening health questions before confirming an appointment.
  • Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and if necessary, Residents may be asked to vacate the apartment while maintenance is being performed.
  • Service requests that require more than one technician to complete will not be authorized at this time unless the work being performed is considered an emergency by the Property Manager.
  • Our maintenance staff will be required to wear masks when working in occupied apartments and common areas.

 

Cleaning and Disinfectant Products and Procedures: Hand sanitizer, cleaning wipes or other cleaning products may be supplied by management for use by Residents and Guests when visiting the leasing office. Due to limited availability of these types of products, we cannot guarantee the availability of these items all the time. Residents are responsible for providing their own hand sanitizer and disinfectant when needed that you only use what you need for the immediate purpose. 

 

With safety and health of the Staff and Residents as a top priority, we are taking some additional precautions over the next few weeks such as,

  1. Wimmer staff will continue to practice social distancing
  2. Employees will wear masks when performing tasks in occupied spaces and during in-person meetings
  3. Increased cleaning and sanitation of common areas, high touch point areas and amenity areas.
  4. Prescreening health questions will be asked before work is performed in any occupied apartment

Our ability to continue working toward a full reopening requires the support and cooperation of all Residents. Although the Wimmer management team will be taking additional precautions during the gradual reopening, this should not be construed as a guarantee for your health and safety.  As always, you are responsible for taking the necessary steps to keep you and your family safe.  We appreciate everyone’s cooperation.
