< Back to blogClose Out Summer with These Fun Events around Oak Creek
September is all about soaking up the last bits of summer before fall hits. Luckily, Oak Creek and the surrounding area is home to fantastic events that will help you celebrate in style. Here are a few dog days of summer events we’ll be checking out near our Wimmer Communities.
1. Food Truck Tour
Break up your week by heading over to Drexel Town Square for the last installment of the 2022 summer Food Truck Tour. You'll have your choice of amazing local food trucks serving delicious eats. You can even wash your food down with the crisp craft beer from One Barrel Brewing Company. Besides the great food, there's also live music so you can jam out with friends and family. Stop by on Wednesday, September 28th from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m to catch Jessie Marie & the Rippers.
2. Cudahy Day!
Over in nearby Cudahy, celebrate Cudahy Day on Saturday, September 17th starting at noon. This day commemorates the historical event when the city's namesake, Patrick Cudahy, sold parcels of land at auction. At the event, check out booths from local vendors and community organizations. There will also be historical photos, video footage, and fun presentations. It’s a great way to spend a relaxing Saturday enjoying a fun party and learning about some local history.
3. Movie-Theatre Night
Over at the Oak Creek Performing Arts & Education Center, you can catch a movie in style. At Movie-Theatre Night, take your pick of one of 1,000 seats for the best view. You can even hang out and get comfy in your pajamas if you wish. This event takes typical summer movies to the next level. Best of all, tickets cost just $3. On September 24th, catch Encanto at 4:00 p.m. and get ready to sing. Afterwards, at 7:00 p.m., don't miss Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
